Internship Program
Advancing the Education of Students in Social Entreprise and Venture Philanthropy
Gray Matters Capital believes that success is magnified by cultivating strong relationships with local and global partners and communities where we operate. Part of that relationship includes making investments to help promote educational and economic opportunities in our communities and around the world, starting with the students of today.
The GMC internship program is aimed at achieving two goals. It encourages students’ future involvement in social enterprise and philanthropy by acquainting them with the challenges and rewards of public interest work while also providing the philanthropic and social enterprise community with the dedication, energy, and idealism that interns provide.
Our internships unite business, social and market-based concepts in entrepreneurship and impact investing for a unique learning experience. We place talented and motivated undergraduate and graduate students with emerging initiatives within the organization, giving them the opportunity to develop skills and apply the knowledge to advance business practices. Students benefit from hands-on experience and exposure to social enterprise and philanthropy, which will give them professional experiences to remain competitive when seeking employment after graduation.
The Experience
GMC recognizes the uniqueness of each intern. Interns will work on a variety of projects in groups consisting of mentors representing different sectors of our business community. The GMC Internship Program is typically a 10-14 week experience consisting of a one-day orientation and a professional development activity.
Intern Eligibility
GMC aims to extend internship opportunities to students from all areas of graduate and undergraduate studies. Eligible students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program when applying for an internship. Special considerations may be given to students who:
- Have plans to enroll or have been accepted into an undergraduate or graduate program within a year of the internship start date;
